What is.gematria

Gematria is an ancient system of numerology that assigns numerical values to certain words based on their Hebrew letters. The practice of gematria dates back to the time of the Babylonian empire, around 500 B.C.E., and is still used today in some Jewish circles as a system for assigning numerical values to names or phrases in order to uncover deeper spiritual meaning.

Gematria is based on the numerical values assigned to each of the twenty two letters of the Hebrew alphabet by their respective numerical counterparts: alef, bet, gimel, dalet, hey, vov, zayin, chet, teth, yud, kaf, lamed .tev ,-resh nun ,_samech_ ayin_ phe_ tsadi_ qof). The numerical value assigned to each letter will be used to calculate the value of a word or name when written in Hebrew. For instance "moses" would be written with its Hebrew meaning "moshe" which has a numerical value of 345 (mem = 40 + shen = 300+ heh = 5). By taking each letter's numerical value into consideration when counting the words within any given text (or name), you can use this system to analyze and interpret scripture in more detail and add more layers to any given study or interpretation.

The traditional use of Gematria is one way for religious and spiritual study. It can be used as a tool for unlocking hidden meanings and symbols from texts by using code-breaking techniques on long-forgotten texts where puzzles are unlocked through a clever combination of numerology and word play. In fact many believe that Gematrial symbolism was used by authors as sly ways of interweaving secret messages into stories or poems. Additionally it can be used within mundane interpretations to add subtle meanings such as assigning significance to names by way if numerology or describing happenings with time-based prophecies throughout ages despite language barriers between few cultures today who have come and gone throughout time.

Besides its spiritual uses Gematria can also be used in traditional sciences such as astronomy which uses astrological numbers from constellations and mega phones which sometimes resonate with numeric word formulations found in texts such as bible passages or even ancient monuments where one could possibly uncover fortunes concerning events yet unknown but referenced without actually mentioning them clearly thereby adding an element not just fop cryptic messages but perhaps prophecy as well about far off judgments that would show up unforetold years later or centuries later buried beneath history due obscure Gematriacal keys left behind .
